Privacy Policy

This policy explains what slapz (“slapz,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use the slapz mobile app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account details — your name, username, and email address, handled through our authentication provider (Clerk) when you sign up or sign in.
• Content you create — the prompts you write, the songs and lyrics you generate, the voice recordings you make, and the reels you film. You own your content; we process it to provide the service (generating, mixing, storing, and sharing your songs at your direction).
• Social actions — friends you add, duets you start, and reports or blocks you submit.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data — how you interact with the app and basic device information, via PostHog (product analytics). Used to understand and improve the product, not to track you across other apps or sites.
• Diagnostics — crash reports and performance data via Sentry, to find and fix bugs.
• Purchases — subscription status and transaction identifiers via RevenueCat and the App Store / Google Play. We never receive your full payment card details; those stay with Apple and Google.

How we use it

• To create, mix, store, and share the songs and content you make.
• To run accounts, friends, duets, and subscriptions.
• To keep the service safe — enforcing blocks, acting on reports, preventing abuse.
• To fix bugs, measure usage, and improve features.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-app advertising or third-party tracking.

AI generation

slapz creates original music and lyrics from the prompts you provide. To do this, your prompt text is processed by our generation pipeline and by AI model providers (including Google's generative models) acting on our behalf. These providers apply their own safety filtering and do not use your content to serve you ads. The songs you create are original works generated for you.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us run slapz, under contracts that limit them to that purpose: authentication (Clerk), analytics (PostHog), diagnostics (Sentry), purchases (RevenueCat, Apple, Google), and cloud hosting/compute. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect people's safety. Content you choose to share (for example a public share link) is visible to anyone who has the link.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account and data any time — in Settings, or via slapz.ai/delete-account.
• Access or correct your account details in the app.
• Manage subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account.
• Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. Email us to exercise them.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account it is removed after the 30-day recovery window, except for limited records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons. See Delete your account for details.

Children

slapz is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your sign-in token is stored in your device's secure keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the product changes and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
